After making a rather colorful comment regarding tropical storm Hermine, I sat down and reflected upon what I had said. Would Jesus have said that? Matter of fact, would Jesus have even been on social media? I do not know, but I can safely say that if Jesus joined a social media site, things would look vastly different than they do now. So I am hoping to take my feelings about that post and allow myself to be used so that His name will be glorified.
Jesus. Sometimes I don’t know what to say, or pray or even how to get the words out. As the song, “Just Say Jesus,” suggests, sometimes we don’t have to say anything at all. He hears our desperate prayers and He answers, we just have to listen. There are times when I feel overwhelmed by life, its difficulties, or when complaining about my problems has just made me so jaded that I don’t know what I can or should do to get back in touch with God.
I don’t want to sound preachy. There are times when I have trouble understanding the gospel and its message. Sometimes I just don’t know what concepts like forgiveness or integrity or love or compassion or mercy and grace look like, because I grew up with a distorted image of these things. So I need reminders. When we are faced with a choice, or are at the end of our ropes, when we are most weak; when the thorn that Satan has placed in our sides feels like a knife being twisted around inside of us– that is when He is strong.
